Art Therapy for Children and Families

What is art therapy?

Unlike a traditional art workshop, art therapy is not about creating a "beautiful" object. It is a guided creative activity within a therapeutic framework, where the process of creation and all phenomena accompanying it (gestures, body language, facial expressions, posture) are more valuable than the finished object.

Art therapy is not meant to use the final creation as a diagnostic or psychoanalytical tool. Instead, it is a dynamic process, both internal and external, that helps to:

  • Develop communication through emotions and non-verbal expression.
  • Release blockages tied to points of fixation or regression.
  • Encourage voluntary change that improves self-confidence and relationships with others.

A creative and powerful tool

In a supportive environment, the creative approach offers a unique way to express what may be difficult to articulate in words. The creations produced become a third entity in the therapeutic process : a metaphorical space where emotions take form, reveal themselves, and find meaning.

For children and their families

Art therapy is for both children and their families, providing a space for communication and mutual understanding. This collaborative work helps to :

  • Better manage emotions and conflicts.
  • Strengthen family bonds in a calm setting.
  • Support each family member on their personal journey to well-being.

Throughout this journey, your creativity — and the relationship we build together — will be a valuable resource for fostering long-lasting emotional and relational balance.
